Average orthodontist costs vary depending on treatment, but it is an investment that can help reduce future dental expenses caused by unaddressed dental issues. We don’t want the prices of orthodontic treatment to be a factor holding you back from getting the care you need. That is why we offer several payment options to help you begin your journey to better oral health.

There are lots of ways to make orthodontic treatment affordable and we work hard to find a plan that works for you and your family. You may be able to use your orthodontic insurance benefit, pay with tax-free dollars from your FSA or HSA, or arrange a no interest monthly payment plan.

Richards offers flexible payment options and we are confident that we can find the right payment plan that fits your needs.

FSA / HSA

  • A flexible savings account (FSA), is an account you may be able to use to pay for certain medical, dental, and orthodontic treatments. 
  • Your FSA is managed by your employer, and you pay money into the account throughout the year, usually through a deduction from your paycheck. You may set aside up to $2,650 annually. Not all employers offer an FSA.

  • A health savings account (HSA), is a special savings account designed for people with a high-deductible health insurance plan. You put money into the account and can use it to cover certain medical, dental, and orthodontic expenses.
  • You may set aside up to $3,400 for an individual or $6,750 for a family annually. To open an HSA, you must meet IRS eligibility requirements (this amount is subject to change).

You don’t pay taxes on the money you put in an FSA or HSA.

Insurance Coverage for Orthodontic Treatment

  • Many dental insurance plans cover both Invisalign and braces treatment. Your insurance may pay for a certain percentage of your orthodontic treatment, or it may pay for a certain dollar amount.
  • Often there is a lifetime maximum on the amount insurance will pay for orthodontic treatment.

  • Ask your benefits manager at work, call your insurance plan’s customer service line, or look through your benefits package for “orthodontic treatment.” Orthodontic treatment is sometimes covered by health, rather than dental insurance, or by orthodontic coverage that you can purchase separately.
  • Dr. Richard’s team will do a complimentary benefits check for you before your exam.

IN-OFFICE monthly payment plan

A monthly payment plan is an arrangement between you and Farr West Orthodontics to spread the cost of your orthodontic treatment over the length of your treatment.
Often there is a lifetime maximum on the amount insurance will pay for orthodontic treatment.

Making small payments over the course of your orthodontic treatment rather than all at once can make it easier to plan your monthly budget and afford orthodontic treatment.

  • Farr West Orthodontics offers flexible and affordable monthly payment plans. We will work with you to come up with a payment plan that works best for everyone!
  • Once a payment plan is decided upon, we will set up payments to auto-draft from a credit card, checking or savings account on the same day each month.

We love Dr Richards and all of his staff they are always absolutely amazing they are always happy and great with my kids. We are just finishing up with one kid's braces and starting the second one He helped my youngest starting at age 5 to make sure she had enough room for her teeth to come in . He helped save my older sons teeth after accident. So he has technically helped with 4 of my kids. On a scale from 1-10 the whole office is a 12.

We have loved Farr West Orthodontist!! They have the best staff. From the moment you walk in the office staff is friendly and helpful. Each of the orthodontist assistants make my kids feel at ease and are so kind. Dr. Richards has been fantastic!! He is realistic, straightforward, and works well with the kids and his staff. I had three kids all with braces here and I would highly recommend this office to everyone!!
